The Flower of Life Project

Restoring Ceremonies for Women Coming of Age

Restoring coming of age ceremonies at pivotal times in a woman’s life.

THE FLOWER OF LIFE PROJECT

The Flower of Life Project is an outreach initiative dedicated to supporting women who wish to revive what was once a universal tradition across all cultures: sacred coming-of-age ceremonies.

Through initiatives honoring the passages of puberty, birth, death, and the wisdom years — as well as the restoration of grandmother councils — the Project works to ensure these traditions remain alive, practiced, and deeply valued within indigenous and traditional communities worldwide.

The Flower of Life Project offers grants to efforts that revive ceremonial practices rooted in traditional wisdom from every continent and lineage. We have already accompanied our first Lakota female grandmother to Italy, supporting her transition into a leadership role — a testament to what this work makes possible.

With sufficient funding, we can extend this reach to women of all cultures and backgrounds, as we did with the Lakota — welcoming women young and old into this sacred space to receive guidance and grounding at life's most pivotal thresholds.
